Sunscreen is just one of the tools to combat skin cancer and sun damage. Those who are exposed to the sun’s rays for long durations should wear a wide brimmed hat to protect their face, as well as sunglasses and a SPF lip balm of at least 30 and ideally 50 if you live/work/ play in higher risk areas such as the Bow Valley in the Rocky Mountains. As always, limited and controlled sun exposure is the best tool to reduce skin cancer risks.
